Overall Policy

The location of your class will determine how you register (details below). Additionally, each city and school has its own set of policies, so please refer to the appropriate web site if you have questions that pertain to that particular location (i.e. www.citymb.info for the City of Manhattan Beach).

We strive to deliver a great experience for each and every child in our classes. One easy way that parents and caregivers can help is to arrive on time for your class. The transition of the class starting will be much smoother – and it avoids the distraction of a late arrival for the rest of the class. Also, the child coming in late can be apprehensive, especially if it is their first class.

Registration

We typically open registration on our web site to all current families before we open it up to the general public. Our web site will always have the full schedule of classes for all cities for a given session, but you’ll need to register in different ways for different locations:

  • Playa Vista
  • Maria del Rey
  • El Segundo
  • Redondo Beach

• For Manhattan Beach After school Enrichment classes at the elementary schools, sign up at www.mbathleticfoundation.org.
  
  • P.A.S.E. classes at Pacific Elementary and any other current enrichment classes
    

Tuition, Fees, Discounts and Payment*

• All tuition and fees will be collected at the time of your registration. Please register early, as classes fill up fast and we will enforce our participate max to ensure the quality of the class.
  
  
• We charge a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $25 for every new child.
  
  
• Multi-class registration: You will receive $10 off your second tuition if you enroll your child(ren) in more then one class per session.
  
  
• Sibling Discount: You will receive $10 is off if you enroll more then one child in the same session
  Discounts are not available in all locations
  
  
• If for some reason you have to pay your tuition, please use this address. (DO NOT MAIL PAYMENTS FOR THE CITY OF MB)
  
  • Include your child’s name, class location, day and time on the memo line (i.e. Sally Smith, Alta Vista, Th 10am)

Refunds and Credits

• Refunds will only be issued if the student must withdraw before the first class meeting and if the parent notifies Coach Derek Inc. in writing.
  
  
  • After the first class meeting, Coach Derek Inc. will issue a prorated credit
    
  • If a refund is issued, Coach Derek Inc. charges a 5% processing fee and the refund may take up to eight weeks.
    
  • The $25 registration fee is non-refundable.
    
  • If more then half the session is over and you are eligible to receive a credit, CDI will issue you a prorated credit (minutes the classes you have attended) to your account and it will be available to use towards another CDI class for one year.
    
    
• If you would like a credit or refund from a class offered through The City of Manhattan Beach or an Enrichment Program- Please contact us first and we will assist you. Please read their refund policies to understand their terms and conditions.

Make Up Policy

Coach Derek Inc. recognizes that your family might miss a class due to vacation, illness or schedule conflicts, and there may be unavoidable circumstances when our coaches cannot teach a class. Since we are an outdoor program, weather can also force us to cancel classes. We have streamlined our make-up policy to ensure that ALL make-ups are completed in the current session:

• If you have missed a class, please contact your coach directly. Then look at the schedule online and find an alternate class to attend during the same session. Call or email that coach to confirm there is room in the class for you to do your make up. And go play!
  
  
• If Coach Derek Inc. must cancel a class (including for rain or inclement weather), we will do our best to offer at least one of the following options:
  
  • We may extend a session by one week (you will be notified)
    
  • We may offer pre-scheduled make-up days during the session (you will be notified and asked to RSVP for these so we maintain our 10:1 student:coach ratio)
    
  • If you are not able to attend a session extension or pre-scheduled make-up day, you can make up as many classes as you’ve missed during that session by contacting the coach of an alternative class, as above
    
    
• No monetary credit will be given for missed classes. Please let us know if you have extenuating circumstances, and we will work with you to find a fair solution for all.

Trial Class

If your child has never participated in a Coach Derek Inc. class, then he or she can do one trial class after filling out the Trial Class Form . This form will be emailed to the coach who teaches the class and you will receive a confirmation email. It is important that you fill this out so we can expect an additional child.
