Let’s Give Them a Shot was created by Derek Locklear in 2004
to offer organized sports instruction to kids in at-risk areas in Los Angeles, who could not afford to participate in his CDI programs.

The program strives to use sports to build the child’s character in a positive, healthy and familiar environment within their community. LGTS operates free or low-cost sports classes in
at-risk communities to children age 5-12, providing sports instruction with quality equipment and experienced coaches who want to be a positive influence in the lives of young people.

Coach Derek is currently expanding the program to go into even more schools and recreation centers, but we need funding to provide coaches and equipment to these groups.		Here’s your chance to give these kids the same opportunities many of our children enjoy year-round. All donations to Let’s Give Them a Shot will be processed and a letter acknowledging your tax-deductible donation to a 501(c)(3) organization will be mailed to the address you provide.
