Tyler Robertson is the newest and youngest addition to Coach Derek Inc., though he has assisted the company the last two summers between school years. Born and raised in the South Bay in Hermosa Beach, Tyler understands the community and lifestyle, home to the Coach Derek program. A former Mira Costa High School varsity athlete, Coach Tyler is now a product of the prestigious Wake Forest University in North Carolina where along with being an apt student, he plays club volleyball and basketball, always keeping active.

Tyler brings an energy and zeal stemming from his youth and energetic persona. With two younger brothers (7 and 10) his love of kids is unmistakable as he understands kids’ needs and wants to help them smile, laugh, have a good time and ultimately learn early life lessons through sports. He is not afraid to be as silly, playful and loving as he can during any given class to enliven and trigger equal flair from each child.

Moreover, Tyler cherishes his time with the Neighborhood Youth Association in Santa Monica in which he tutored young, underprivileged children (4- 18) after school in hopes they may have a better chance to become focused on a post-high school education. Coach Tyler is also fluent in Spanish and caters to any native Hispanic speakers. When you meet Coach Tyler it is obvious that his love for kids is infectious in the vein of a good mentor and moral compass for each individual child. He is looking forward to continue to bring his positive energy, passion and charisma to the Coach Derek Team.
